![]() ![]() We also ordered the charbroiled oysters (served a half dozen). 3 stars, tasted like fried chicken seasoned with McCormicks seasoning all. We ordered Nola Wings (tossed in Cajun season and served with Ranch). Glad she did because I took the last one. My friend got there a few minutes earlier than me to hold a dot at the bar. Because of the personal mixed reviews from my friends I must try them again. I was too hype to finally try and it was legitimately 3 stars for me. Oh Nola! I gotta give you another chance. Overall I would get the mussels again but other than that I don't see myself coming back unless someone really wanted me to come with them for their own experience. I wouldn't come here expecting to get drinks the same strength of those found in the French Quarter of New Orleans. But the mussels with the Cajun butter (2) were the absolute star of our visit. Our items tasted like they just threw season all seasoned salt on everything. The authentic New Orleans style flavor was lacking. Our entrees were the crawdaddy étouffée and the Cajun catfish. My friend and I agreed that it tasted like meals we could have and actually have made at home. We ordered the charbroiled oysters for our app and they were ok. We weren't greeted upon arrival and wandered a bit before just deciding to sit at the bar. Once you find the restaurant you see some Mardi Gras masks around tables and some beads along the walls. There is a parking garage across from the market food hall. The GPS doesn't recognize that the Main Street that Nola is on is closed/blocked off. There aren't many street parking options available close by. He did his thing on the saxophone and performed r&b classics. There was a live performer during our visit which provided a chill vibe. The saving grace was the mussels and music. Granted the friend I went with is from New Orleans and I was looking forward to the same level of deliciousness that I've experienced from my multiple visits, but Nola missed the bar. My friend and I were looking forward to some amazing food and drinks here but the New Orleans flavor is lacking in both categories. If this establishment couldn't accommodate a party of four they could have expressed that when we arrived! Our kids were looking forward to our family restaurant night and Nola completely ruined our Thursday family night for us! I NEVER RECEIVED A TXT THAT THE TABLE WAS EVEN READY. I was really dissatisfied with this place and never stepped foot in the PLACE! So our family restaurant night turned into a fast food night. ![]() We had to find the kids something to eat. Needless to say we turned around and left. we return to Nola to check on the status of our table only to see that this place turned into a FULL BLOWN CLUB with a DJ AND ALL! On a Thursday night. We had our kids with us so to kill time for that hour we decided to grab a small appetizer to share at another restaurant (that wasn't busy) a few doors down to hold them over (because they were really hungry).ĪFTER WAITING FOR THE HOUR- we received a txt notification that it would now be ANOTHER 30 mins.Īfter a hour of waiting. Anxious to try this place, we waited an hour.
